People of Albemarle

Capturing the unique culture and business climate of a region or locality can, indeed, be challenging. If you take the time to look just beneath the surface, however, you will find that the people, personalities, and organizations of that community each have a spirit that makes that community great.

Strategic Urban Applications first explored this phenomenon while producing the #peopleofalbemarle visibility campaign for the Albemarle County Economic Development Office. Utilizing the smart and informed approach that is characteristic of SUA, the business and lifestyle climate of Albemarle County became more than a collection of numbers and figures. It gained life and vitality through the stories of its inventors, minds, and small businesses.

Marshall, and the rest of the SUA Team, in partnership with Nelson County, Madison County, Piedmont Virginia Community College, and Germanna Community College, developed CARPE, a brand designed to encapsulate the collaborative nature of the thriving craft drinks scene in Virginia.

Along with brand identity development, a series of videos were produced to create interest in the program and to promote registration.

Rather than presenting a corporate video style, however, SUA produced a documentary short, along with 5 other 2 minute teasers, that would engage and inspire the audience.
